![]() ![]() ”Tracking may be a luxury in most cases, but its usefulness cannot be denied. The same cannot be said for getting past locked doors that REQUIRE the use of a bard/rogue to get through without using an exploit like a mob summoning you. Tracking is a luxury, nothing outright requires you have it in order to proceed. ↑ “ Nothing prevents you from finding the wisp on your own though, it will take longer and be annoying but any class can run around till they find an NPC. If you need me I will be in Greater Fay or Commonlands searching for this individual. Now, if you'll excuse me I need to find a vendor with one of those heavy coffins and a necro to summon to my corpse. Simply put we are no longer as interdependent on other classes as we once were nor should we look back with nostalgia because we are still dependent on two classes for an old world ability. You want a tough quest to finish for access? That quest took me over four hours to complete solo. We have healer mercs that buff and heal, fighters who tank, DPS and you certainly don't need a druid or wizard to take you to say Pillars of Alra anymore. Being these two classes are the last to have been made redundant by ability, I really don't see this as being anything less than the last sacred cow. ![]() Likewise I see the folks who are most against this idea are, of course, rogues and bards. I know my main is now sitting on at the very least 30 mercenary AA as it stands now. ![]() Even adding this as a skill-up or mercenary AA tree would be an acceptable mechanic. You want a work around, how about this: Put a key vendor in PoK to buy one-use stackable keys for places like VT, Seb, CoM, etc.Īnd, btw, there are doors that require a rogue in a later xpac.can't remember which one, but it is an instance that has two jail doors that require a rogue/bard to open to complete the instance.Īdding this ability to the rogue/assassin mercenary would also be logical. But, like what is going on now, people whine and complain about stuff, and devs listen to the whiners instead of staying on track and keeping to the true spirit of the game: community. You know.not WoW, where you can solo your way through the game regardless of what class you are.Īnd having closed content that requires you to group was a key piece of that back in the day. Perhaps I do live in a world of rainbows and unicorns, but I come from an EQ where people use to help each other out, where grouping was essential to get things done. Just because you don't feel like asking someone to come hang out with you for an hour or so doesn't mean that there isn't someone that won't come do it. ”Then perhaps you are missing out on finding a good person to hang out with in the long run. It's just not practical in any sense and isn't fair to the lockpicker even if they are of upstanding moral conviction. ↑ “ I would never ask someone to run around VT opening every other door for me for an hour just so I can get some checkmarks or old school items. ![]()
